Lemosho Grand Expedition – 8 Days Kilimanjaro Summit

After breakfast in Moshi, we drive to Londorossi Gate for registration and permit procedures before starting the trek. The hike begins through the beautiful rainforest zone, where you may spot various bird species and wildlife. Continue along the forest trail to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the natural beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After breakfast, we begin our trek through the remaining rainforest before entering the beautiful moorland zone of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail gradually climbs through changing landscapes with spectacular views of the surrounding area. As we approach the Shira Plateau, the scenery opens up with stunning views of Kibo Peak. We arrive at Shira 1 Camp for dinner, relaxation, and overnight camping.

After breakfast at Shira 1 Camp, we continue our trek across the beautiful Shira Plateau, one of the most scenic areas on Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail offers incredible views of Kibo Peak, ancient volcanic formations, and the wide-open alpine landscape. This is a shorter acclimatization day, allowing your body to adjust to the increasing altitude while enjoying the unique beauty of the mountain. We arrive at Shira 2 Camp for dinner, relaxation, and overnight camping.

After breakfast, we leave Shira 2 Camp and trek toward Lava Tower at 4,600 m, an important acclimatization point on the route. We then descend to the beautiful Barranco Valley, passing through unique volcanic landscapes and the famous Senecio plants. The day helps your body adapt to higher altitude while enjoying some of the most spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After breakfast, we begin the exciting climb of the Barranco Wall, one of the most memorable sections of the Lemosho Route. The trail continues through alpine desert scenery with impressive views of Kibo Peak before reaching Karanga Camp. This shorter trekking day allows further acclimatization and preparation for the summit push.

After breakfast, we trek toward Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit attempt. The trail passes through the rocky alpine desert zone with spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. Upon arrival at Barafu Camp, guests rest, enjoy dinner, and prepare mentally and physically for the midnight summit climb.

The summit day begins around midnight with a challenging climb toward Stella Point and finally Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit and enjoying breathtaking sunrise views, we descend through the mountain zones to Mweka Camp for overnight rest and celebration of your achievement.

After breakfast, we descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where we complete park registration and receive summit certificates. Our vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Moshi for a well deserved rest after completing your Kilimanjaro adventure.
